Description

Ah, The Ordinary. The brand that said, “What if skincare labels actually told the truth?” Minimal design, maximal chemistry. Let’s decode your set in clear, human English.

This is The Bright Set by The Ordinary, designed to improve dull skin, uneven tone, and texture. It focuses on cleansing, brightening, and gentle exfoliation.

First: Squalane Cleanser
This is a gentle face cleanser. It removes makeup, sunscreen, and dirt without stripping your skin.
Squalane is a lightweight oil that mimics your skin’s natural oils, so it cleans while keeping your skin soft and hydrated.
Best for: all skin types, especially dry or sensitive skin.

Second: Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
This is mainly for the under-eye area.
Caffeine helps reduce puffiness by improving circulation.
EGCG (a compound from green tea) is an antioxidant that helps with dark circles caused by pigmentation and inflammation.
Best for: puffy eyes and tired-looking under-eyes.

Third: Ethylated Ascorbic Acid 15% Solution
This is a Vitamin C serum.
Vitamin C brightens skin, helps fade dark spots, and supports collagen production (which keeps skin firm).
“Ethylated” means it’s a more stable and less irritating form of Vitamin C compared to pure ascorbic acid.
Best for: uneven skin tone, dullness, early signs of aging.

Fourth: Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
This is a chemical exfoliant.
Glycolic acid is an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) that removes dead skin cells from the surface.
It improves texture, smoothness, and brightness over time.
Use it at night only, and not every day at the beginning (2–3 times per week is safer). Always use sunscreen the next day.

Simple routine idea:
Morning:
Cleanser → Caffeine (under eyes) → Vitamin C → Moisturizer → Sunscreen

Evening (on exfoliation nights):
Cleanser → Glycolic Acid → Moisturizer

Think of this set as a “skin clarity system.” Clean gently, brighten strategically, exfoliate intelligently. Skincare isn’t magic — it’s controlled chemistry done consistently.
